I. Objectives.
 - By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to continue the useage of adverb of manner .
1. Language focus:
 - Adverb of manner: clearly, carefully, carelessly, safely, strictly.
 - New words: safety, awareness, pool fifeguard, pool edge, yellow flag.

- Ask Ss to look at the picture on page 133 and answer some questions:
1. What sport is it in the picture?
2. Do you like swimming? Why?
3. Where can we go swimming?
- Set the scene: “Swimming is a popular sport especially for children in summer. However, swimming will be dangerous if you don't strictly follow water safely advice in the pool or on the beach. What do we have to do to ensure the safety in the pool?”
- Ask Ss to work in small group, discuss the above question.
- Set the scene: “You are going to read a passage about safety awareness in the swimming pool or on the beach. You read and find the main idea of the passage.”

(+) Pre-teach vocabulary:
- Summer is on its way: kỳ nghỉ hè đang đến gần
- Water safety awareness: chú ý về sự an toàn dưới nước
- pool lifeguard: người cứu hộ, bảo vệ ở các bể bơi
- aim: mục đích
- pool edge: thành bể bơi
- to obey: tuân theo
- to be aware of: nhận thức, ý thức
- red and yellow flags: cờ đỏ và cờ vàng
- Ask Ss to copy, repeat, read out and learn them by heart at home.
(+) Change the adjectives in brackets to adverbs.
- Ask Ss to read the passage again and do the exercise individually, compare his/ her answers with a partner.
- Call some Ss to give their answers.
- Correct their mistakes and give keys.
+ Note:
Beside standing behind the verb, adverb still stands before the verb with the same function.
