	Most students, in their own countries have had little opportunity to practise using English. MEASURING HEAT
A meter is a measuring device. Just as the speedometer in an automobile tells how fast the car is going, a thermometer records how warm or how cold something is.
Thermometers measure heat in degrees. For example, for comfort indoors the temperature in a room should be about 70o Farenheit.
