Introduction
aWarm up- Review: Put the children in teams of 5 and ask them to think of a name. Get the teams to look at the PMB p 36 from the previous lesson. They look for 2 minutes to remember as much as they can. They turn over the page. You ask each team a question e.g. In picture 1 how many women are there? The team must give a full answer for a point.
Development
aShow the people flashcards one by one and elicit the words from the children.
a The children look at the pictures in exercise 1 on page 60 in their workbooks. Elicit the vocabulary. The children do exercise 1.
aOn the board write 2 men, a man and elicit the full sentences, there are 2 men and there is a man.
aAsk the children to look at the pictures in exercise 2 and ask them what they can see. The children do exercise 2.
Consolidation
aPlay stand up sit down. Read out some singular and plural nouns e.g. people, children, child, doll, giraffes etc. Tell the children to stand up for there is and sit down for there are.
