Sai về sự hòa hợp giữa chủ ngữ và động từ
Quy tắc cơ bản là chủ ngữ số ít đi với động từ chia ở dạng số ít, chủ ngữ số nhiều đi với động từ chia ở dạng số nhiều. Ngoài ra còn có một số trường hợp khác mà các bạn cũng phải nắm vững.
I like pupils who works very hard.
Who ở đây là thay cho pupils vì vậy động từ trong mệnh đề quan hệ phải phù hợp với chủ ngữ tức ở dạng số nhiều. Do đó lỗi sai cần tìm là works.
Sai về thì của động từ
Nếu các bạn lưu ý đến trạng ngữ chỉ thời gian trong câu thì việc xác định thì của động từ sẽ vô cùng dễ dàng.
We only get home from France yesterday.
Do có trạng từ yesterday (hôm qua) nên động từ phải chia ở thì quá khứ - lỗi sai cần tìm là get.
Sai đại từ quan hệ
Các đại từ quan hệ who, whose, whom, which, that... đều có cách sử dụng khác nhau. Ví dụ: who thay thế cho danh từ chỉ người đóng vai trò là chủ ngữ, which thay thế cho danh từ chỉ vật...
He gave orders to the manager whose passed them on to the foreman.
Whose là đại từ quan hệ đóng vai trò là tính từ sở hữu. Trong trường hợp này ta dùng một đại từ bổ nghĩa cho danh từ manager. Do đó, ta dùng who – lỗi sai cần tìm là whose
Sai về bổ ngữ
Các bạn phải chú ý khi nào thì dùng to infinitive, bare infinitive hoặc V-ing.
I want to travel because I enjoy to meet people and seeing new places .
Ta có cấu trúc: enjoy + V-ing nên lỗi sai cần tìm là to meet.
Sai về câu điều kiện
Có 3 loại câu điều kiện với 3 cấu trúc và cách dùng khác nhau. Chỉ cần ghi nhớ và áp dụng đúng thì việc xác định lỗi sai sẽ không hề khó khăn.
What would you do if you will win a million pounds?
Đây là câu điều kiện không có thực ở hiện tại nên động từ ở mệnh đề if chia ở quá khứ. (To be được chia là were cho tất cả các ngôi). Vậy will win là đáp án.
Sai về giới từ
Giới từ thường đi thành cụm cố định như to be fond of, to be fed up with, to depend on, at least.... Các bạn cần phải học thuộc lòng những cụm từ đó.

To rely on sb: tin cậy, trông đợi vào ai. Do đó, with là đáp án cần tìm.
Sai hình thức so sánh
Có 3 hình thức so sánh là so sánh bằng, so sánh hơn và so sánh nhất. Các bạn phải nắm vững cấu trúc của từng loại vì người ra đề thường cho sai hình thức so sánh của tính/ trạng từ hoặc cố tình làm lẫn giữa 3 loại so sánh với nhau.
The North of England is as industrial than the South.
Đây là câu so sánh hơn vì có than – as industrial phải được chuyển thành more industrial.
Các từ liên quan đến các cấu trúc ngữ pháp như : SO (so..that ), TOO (too..to).SUCH ( such ..that ), WISH,WOULD RATHER , IF ONLY, AS IF ,AS THOUGH
chú ý xem có sai phần nào ở công thức không.
It’s such beautiful that I want  to go picnic
Such phải đứng trước một cụm chứ không phải 1 từ => such sai (sửa lại thành It’s so beautiful that I want to go picnic)
Sai many, much, few, little
Many, few: thường dùng cho danh từ đếm được
Much, little: không đếm được
She had saved many money to buy a house.
=> Money là danh từ không đếm được => phải dùng much chứ không dùng many => many sai

TO-INFINITIVES / BARE INFINITIVES / GERUNDS
(Động từ nguyên mẫu có “to”, nguyên mẫu không “to”, danh động từ)
1. To-infinitive / Infinitive with to
* Động từ nguyên mẫu có to được dùng làm:
- Chủ ngữ của câu: To becomea famous singer is her dream.
- Bổ ngữ cho chủ ngữ: What I like is to swimin the sea and then to lieon the warm sand.
- Tân ngữ của động từ It was late, so we decided to takea taxi home.
- Tân ngữ của tính từ I’m pleased to seeyou\
.* Trong các cấu trúc:
+ It takes / took + O + thời gian + to-inf 
+ chỉ mục đích
+ bổ ngữ cho danh từ hoặc đại từ: S + V + Noun / pronoun + to-inf

- Sau các từ nghi vấn: what, who, which, when, where, how, (nhưng thường không dùng sau why)

- allow / permit/ advise / recommend + O + to-inf She allowed me to useher pen.
- allow / permit / advise / recommend + V-ing She didn’t allow smokingin her room
II. Bare infinitive / Infinitive without to
* V + O + bare inf 
- let - make - had better - would rather
Notebe + made + to-inf
- help + V1 / to-inf
- help + O + V1 / to-inf

Ex: My brother helped me domy homework.

* Động từ chỉ giác quan 
1- Các động từ chỉ tri giác: hear, sound, smell, taste, feel, watch, notice, see, listen, find .. + O + V1
(chỉ sự hoàn tất của hành động – nghe hoặc thấy toàn bộ sự việc diễn ra)
Ex: I saw her get off the bus.
- Các động từ chỉ tri giác: hear, sound, smell, taste, feel, watch, notice, see, listen, find .. + O + V-ing
(chỉ sự việc đang diễn ra)
Ex: I smell something burningin the kitchen.
III. GERUND (V-ing)
* Danh động từ có thể được dùng làm:
- Chủ từ của câu: Swimmingis my favourite sport.
- Bổ ngữ của động từ: My hobby is collectingstamps.
- Tân ngữ của động từ: I enjoy traveling. 
* V + V-ing 
* Sau các liên từ:after, before, when, while, since,
Ex: After finishinghis homework, he went to bed. 
* Sau các giới từ:on, in, at, with, about, from, to, without, .
Ex: My sister is interested in listeningto pop music
+ try + V-ing: thử
+ try + to-inf: cố gắng
+ need + V-ing = need + to be + V3: cần được (bị động)
+ need + to-inf: cần (chủ động)
Ex: I need to washmy car.
My car is very dirty. It needs washing / to be washed.
