Lesson 4: B1, b2 – come and play.
I. Objectives.
 - By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to use the modadl verbs: must, have to, ought to.

 - Modal verbs: must, have to, ought to
2. Language skills:
 - Listening.
 - Communicate.
II. Teaching aids.
Teacher: - Text book, teacher's book, lesson plan, tape and cassette, a poster.
Students: - Text book, notebook.
III. Procedure.

 2. Check up: (1S).
 * Question: Write new words in the last period.
 * Answer: New words in the last period.
 3. New lesson:

* Warm up.

- Introduce Modal verbs:
+ ought to: nên
Eg: I ought to go to beb early.
+ must: phải

 I'd like to, but I can't.
+ It takes sb time to do sth: mất bao nhiêu để làm gì

- Ask Ss to copy, repeat, read out, give some examples and learn them by heart at home.
* Practice.
(+) B1- P. 134. Listen. Then practice with a partner.
. Use tape and cassette.
- Set the scene: “You are going to listen the dialogue between Ba and Nam.”
- Play the tape three times, ask Ss to listen to the tape.
- Call 2 some pairs to practice in front of the class.
- Correct their pronunciation.
- Ask Ss to work individually to answer the question on page 134. 
(+) B2 - P.135. Listen.
. Use the tape and cassette.
- Set the scene: “You are going to listen to the dialogue between Ba and Nam. Then practice with a partner and change the underlined details using the information in the box.”
- Plaly the tape 3 times, ask Ss to listen.
- Call 2 pairs to practice the dialogue in front of the class.
- Correct their pronunciation.
- Ask Ss to make 3 dialogues.
- Call 3 pairs to practice in front of the class.
- Correct their mistake if necessary.
Students' activities

- Copy, repeat, read out, give some examples and learn them by heart at home.
- Listen to the tape.
- Practice the dialogue in front of the class.
. Answers:
a) Nam must finish his homework before he plays table tennis.

c) Ba will finish a question for Math.
d) Ba has two paddles.
- Listen to the tape.
- Practice the dialogue in front of the class.
. Work in pairs.
. Possible dialogue:
A: Come and play volleyball, B.
B: I'm sorry.
A: That's too bad. Why not?
B: Well, I should visit my grandmother.
A: Can you play on the weekend?
B: Yes, I can.
A: All right. See you on Saturday afternoon.
B: OK. Bye.
A: Bye.
