( The common diseases)
- Write words which show the common diseases on the boarb.
- Leave the words in English, ask Ss to look at their meaning to read words in English again.
- When the words in English are leaved
Ask Ss to write them in English again.
* Pre-reading.

- Give some new words:
+ symptom: triệu chứng
+ a runny nose: sổ mũi
+ a slight fever: sốt nhẹ
+ coughing: ho 
+ sneezing: hắt hơi
+ the common cold : bệnh cảm thường
+ disease: bệnh
+ common: chung, phổ biến
+ catch: nhiễm, mắc bệnh
+ cure: chữa, phương pháp chữa bệnh

- Ask Ss to write down, repeat, read out and learn them by heart at home.

- Ask Ss to answer some questions:
1. Among the diseases you learned, do you know which diseases is the most common?
2. Do you know what symptoms of the common cold are?
3. Tell me what are symptoms of the common cold?
* While-reading.
- Set the scene: “You are going to read about the common cold. You read and answer the questions.”
- Ask Ss to read the text sillently.
- Ask Ss to work in pairs to give their answers in front of the class.
- Call some pairs to practice in front of the class.
- Correct their mistakes and give keys.
* Post-reading.
- Ask 2 good Ss to translate the text into Vietnamese.
- Correct their mistakes if necessary.
