Period 74 Unit 12: Let’s eat
Leeson 2: a2 -too, either
A. Aims: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to use:
“I don’t ....., either/I do, too
+ teaching aids:pictures, poster
+ anticipated problems.
B. Procedure:
vegetables
1. Warm up Networks
food
fruit
- Divide the class into 3 groups
- Ask students to write names of food/fruit/ vegetables
2. Set the scence: use networks to make a dialogue.
T :Do you like...?
S1 : Yes, I do
T : How about you ?
S2 : I do too
T Do you like....... ?
S No, I don’t like it
T How about....?
S I don’t either
3. Model sentences. She like carrots and you do, too.
	She doesn’t like durians and you don’t either.
4. Form: S+ V+....
	 S + V/ Aux, too
 S + don’t/ doesn’t/ didn’t +V...
	 S + Aux (not), either
5. Concept check:	
a. form
b. meaning: Ask students to translate into VN
c. Use:Dùng để diễn tả sự đồng ý; “too” dùng trong câu khẳng định, “either” dùng trong câu phủ định
II. Practice: Word cue drill / picture drill(T draws on board)
a. I like carrots 	-> I Example exchanges:
b. I don’t like meat 	-> I S1:I like carrots./I don’t like meat
c. I like papaya 	-> I S2:I do too./I don’t either
d. I don’t like spinach 	-> I
e. I don’t like fish.
f. I like mangoes
T runs through the cues and then let ss repeat
T models - Ss repeat
SS practise in pairs (open pairs -> close pairs)
Then ask Ss to practice with he/ she/ they/....
III. Further practice. Lucky numbers
 Make sentences with too or either:
a)I am cold. -> He
b)I was not free last Monday. -> They
c)Minh likes potatoes and peas. -> Hoa
d)Nga didn’t like pork. -> I
e)These fruits are green. ->Those fruits
f)He can’t sing English songs ->I
g) I have two brothers. ->I

IV. Homework:
- Learn by heart the structure
- Do exercise A2, 3, 4
- Prepare A2 (neither, So)

1. Warm up: a, Chatting.
T What do you like ? 	ask four students

T I do, too
I - Presentation
1. Presentation dialogue:
I do you like chicken ?
S1 Yes, I do.
T How about you Ly ?
S1 Yes, so do I. But I don’t like fork
T Neither do I
- Run through the dialogue.
- Get students to repeat
- T Whole class; Whole class – Teacher
SS – SS, T pull out model sentences
2. Form: So + V/ Aux + S -> response for pastive sentence
neither + V / Aux + S -> Response for negative sentences
Use:	Express of the idia argree or not
Meaning: (students trans late in to Vietnamese)
II. Practice:	Word cue drill
a. I / mangoes v	-> gets students to run through
b. She / bananas v all of these words
c. They / papayas x - model senten. a and c
d. We / corn v Exchange
e. He / spinach x S1 I like mangoes
f. Lan / potatoes x S2 So do I
g. He / fish x S1 they don’t like papayas
h. I / chicken v S2 neither do I
i. Nam / beef v
- Ask student to practise in pairs (open pair, close pairs)
- Call some pairs of students to do.
