II. READING: 
 	Studies of the biodiversity of Bach Ma’s forest are not yet completed but it is already clear that the park supports a very large number of species. This is partly due to the variation in altitude and also because the park is located within the transition of two bio- geographical zones supporting species from northern and southern regions of Vietnam. The vegetation includes two main formations: tropical lowland forests and subtropical forests. The flora of Bach Ma includes at least 1,400 species which represent around the one fifth of the entire flora of Vietnam.
 The fauna of Bach Ma National Park is considered to support half of all species known in Vietnam. Forty – three species of mammals were identified in the park. Nine species of primates and large predators, such as tigers and leopards, still remain in the remote parts of the park. The 330 species of birds that have been observed in the park represent over one third of the species in Vietnam.
