Sydney Opera House, a major arts center was built on the Harbor in Sydney, Australia. It was designed in 1970 by the Danish architect Jurn Ulzon. The building was completed in 1973. Although called an opera house, it is a complex that contains several halls and theaters. There are two concert halls, a theater for opera and ballet, a smaller theater for plays, a recording hall and rehearsal rooms, and cinema. It is the home of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. The Australian Ballet, and Australian Opera.
