Are you looking for a cheap, clean, effective source of power that doesn’t cause pollution or waste natural resources? Look no further than solar energy from our sun. At present, most of our electricity comes from the use of coal and gas, oil or nuclear power. This power could be provided by the sun. One percent of the solar energy that reaches the Earth is enough to provide power for the total population. Many countries are already using solar energy. Solar panels are placed on the roof of a house and the Sun’s energy is used to heat water. The energy can be stored for a number of days, so on cloudy days you can use solar energy and cars will use solar power instead of gas by the year 2015.

For many people the language of the Internet is English. "World, Wide, web: Three English Words " was the name of an article by Michael Specter in the New York Time a few years ago. The article went on to say: "If you want to take full advantage of the Internet, there is only one real way to do it: learn English."
In general, it is not difficult to learn to use Internet services. But although Internet services are rather easy to use, you will have considerable difficulties if you are not familiar with English. In fact, knowledge of English is one of the most important aspects that help you use the Internet. Learning to use a new Internet service may take a few hours, a few days, or some weeks, but it takes years to learn a language so that you can use it fluently and confidently. Of course, when you know some English, you can learn more just by using it on the Internet. But at least your English should be good enough to understand commonly used words and to know what to do on the Internet.

A tornado is a tube of spinning air that touches the ground. Wind inside the tornado, spinning very fast, makes tornadoes very dangerous.
Tornadoes mostly happen during very strong thunderstorms. They cause a lot of damage to anything they touch. People die every year from tornadoes.
Tornadoes are ranked on the Fujita scale, from F0 to F5. F0 has the lowest wind speed, and F5 has the highest wind speed.
The United States of America has the most tornadoes every year, but tornadoes can happen in any country. If a tornado is coming, the safest thing to do is to go to a basement or a bathroom with no windows. People should never be in a car or a mobile home when there is a tornado near.

When do tornadoes mostly happen?
How are tornadoes ranked?
Where should we hide if a tornado comes?

Columbus, however, was convinced that the earth was round. He thought that India, which is in the east, could be reached by sailing west. Columbus thought the earth much smaller than it really is. He thought that the long voyage to India would be shorter if he would sail west instead of sailing east.
Columbus first asked the king of Portugal for help. His request was refesed. Next Columbus outlined his plans to the king of England. Again he was refused. Finally this determined man went to Spain. For seven years he worked to enlist the help of the Spanish monarchs, King Ferdinand and Queen Isablella. At last they consented to help him. They gave him men and ships. AN IMPORTANT FUEL
One of the most important discoveries of the nineteenth century was a method of using natural gas for cooking and heating. Large amounts of natural gas found in the United States, usually several thousand feet below the surface of the earth. Natural gas is most found in places where petroleum, the oil from which gasoline is made, is found. Often the natural gas must be removed before the oil itself is reached.
For many years after natural gas first discovered, it was thought to have no value. Finally, however, people began to understand its uses and to find ways of storing it and of moving it from place to place.
Today natural gas is stored in large tanks and used for lighting, cooking, and heating. In many ways natural gas is one of our finest fuels. It can be used for cooking without making the room hot. It is cheap and can be moved easily from one place to another through long pipelines, some of which are hundreds of miles in length.

The moon is the second brightest object in the sky after the sun. It is the only natural satellite of the Earth and orbits around it. It has a diameter of about 3,476 kilometers and has many craters on its surface. These were formed by meteor craters millions of years ago. It takes the moon 27.3 days to make one orbit around the earth and the same period time to complete one rotation on its axis.
The moon is the only celestisl body that has been visited by human beings. One reason is that the moon is much closer to the earth than the other planets; it is estimated that the moon is about 240,000 miles from the earth. We can see it clearly from the earth with naked eyes. Because it is close to us, the gravitational forces between the earth and the moon cause some interesting effects. The most obvious is the tides.
