Yes, she is, no she isn’t Resources CLASSBOOK p.69 Teaching Aids: -CD track 97 - Flashcards 81– 90 people and ordinal numbers - Extra practical classroom activities – spelling quiz Introduction aWarm up: Give out the flashcards 81- 90 to 10 children. Ask the children to put the flashcard on their head so you can see it. Shout out the words. When the children with the flashcards hear their word they stand up and then sit down when they hear it again. Development aAsk the children to look at the pictures in exercise 1 on p 69. Ask the children where the pictures are from and what order they go. aRecording 97: Play the recording and ask the children to listen and point to the correct pictures. a Recording 97: Play the track again and stop after the first item and show the 1 in picture 2. Continue the track, pausing after each item for the children to write the numbers next to the correct picture. a Recording 97: Play the track again for the children to check their answers. aSpeaking: exercise 2: Give an example with one child by pointing to a photo and asking, What’s Suzy doing? Is she sad? Ask the children to work in pairs and continue taking it in turns to ask and answer. aWriting: The children do exercise 3. Consolidation aWriting: Spelling quiz: Put the children into teams of 4. Give each team a hand out – the spelling quiz. Ask the children to choose a name write it on the top of the hand out. Read out the words one by one from page 2 and the teams have to spell the words correctly on their hand out. Teams change hand outs and check each other’s spelling as you write them on the board.
