Development aAsk the children to tell you the titles of some fairytales. The children open their books at p 68 and look at the pictures. Ask them what they think the story is about. Ask a few questions e.g. Where is the horse? Why is it not happy? What is it thinking? What colours are the horses? Write their answers on the board. aRecording 96: Ask the children to listen to the track and read and then tell you if their ideas about the story are correct or not. a Recording 76: Play the track again and ask the children some questions e.g. “What does Suzy do every day? Where does she go? Is she happy in the field? aAsk the children if the following sentences are True or False: Sally is a fairground horse. (F)She goes up and down every day. (F) She wants to be a real horse. (T)Suzy runs to the field. (T) She eats sandwiches. (F)At night she is happy. (F)She misses the children. (F) She goes back to the fairground.
