Introduction
aPlay Snap with the celebration flash cards. Show a flash card and say the word. If it is the same the children say “SNAP”
Development
aPut the following question and short answer on the board: There were ___ chairs in the classroom and There weren’t ___ giraffes in the playground Ask a child to come to the board and complete the sentences with some or any.
aAsk the children to look at the pictures in exercise 1 on page 61 in their workbooks and tell you what they see in each picture. The children do exercise one.
aAsk them to compare their answers with their partner before you feedback.
aAsk the children to look at the pictures in exercise 2 and elicit some sentences about the pictures. Write the sentences the children give you on the board and get them to correct any mistakes. The children do exercise 2.
Consolidation
a aPlay beat the teacher: Draw 2 cats on the board one for the teacher and one for the children. Choose words from the unit. Put __ ___ on the board for each letter of the word. E.g. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ (children). The children have to guess letters in the word. Every letter they get correct you rub off a piece of the teacher’s cat. Every incorrect guess you rub off a piece of the children’s cat. The children win if they guess the word before their cat disappears!
