Introduction
aWarm up: Sing the song “We’re getting ready for the wedding?” from page 54. With or without track 72.
Development
aAsk the children to open their books at page 56. Ask them if they can tell you where the text is from – it’s an email. They look at the photos; ask them to tell you what the children are doing. Ask them if they can tell you what the text is about – a party.
aWrite the following words on the board: wedding, cake, guests, white, green, dress, band, invitation
aRecording 76: Ask the children to listen to the track and read and then tell you which words on the board are in the text.
a Recording 76: Play the track again and ask the children some questions e.g. “When’s the party?” “What’s Bella doing?”
aThe children do exercise 3.
aIn pairs the children take it in turns to point to a photos and their partner tells them what the children are doing.
Consolidation
aWriting: Ask the children to draw an invitation using the one in the email on page 56 as an example and complete the details for their birthday party.
