Put the children in teams of 6. Ask one child from each team to come to you. Show a flashcard of an everyday activity. The child goes back to their team and mimes the action- no speaking. The first team to guess gets a point. Repeat with different children. aShow the flashcards again one by one and say the words for the children to repeat. Development a Ask the children to look at exercise 1 on page 28 in their workbooks and elicit what they can see in the pictures. aAsk the children to tell you the order of the activities and write the order on the pictures e.g. Number 4 is first. a The children do exercise 1. aOn the board write school I go to. Ask a child to come to the board and write the sentence correctly with the help of the class. aThe children do exercise 2. Consolidation a Hold the flashcards 31-36 up one at a time and elicit a sentence for each one. aJump: Play jump with the class with the flashcards. Hold up the flashcards one by one. If the word you say and the flashcard matches the children jump. If it doesn’t match the children shout out the correct word.
