Resources CLASSBOOK p.30 Teaching Aids: - CD track 38-40 - Flashcards – everyday - activities 31-36 - PMB p.16 Introduction aWarm up - Word Relay: Review time. Choose 10 children to come to the board and stand in teams of 5 facing the board. Draw a clock on each side of the board. Whisper a time – e.g. 6 o’clock to the last child in the line. They whisper it to the next child and so on. The first child to draw the correct time on the clock face gets a point. aUse flashcards 31-36 to introduce the key vocabulary. Hold up the flashcards and elicit the everyday activities from the children. Hold up each one in a different order and say the words for children to repeat. Development aRecording 38&39: Ask children to look at the pictures on page 30 in exercise 1 and 2. Play the first and second parts of the recording as children point to the words. Repeat and the children to repeat the words after the audio. aRecording 39: Ask the children to listen and repeat. Hold the flashcards up as the words are said. aRecording 40: With books closed children listen to the story and shout the times they hear. aRecording 40: Ask the children to open their books and tell you what they can see in the pictures in exercise 3. Listen to the track and point to the speech bubbles in the story as they hear the sentences. aAsk the children to read the story again and point to the words from exercise 1. Consolidation aSpeaking and listening: Divide the children into A and B pairs. Give the children the cut up copies of PMB p 16 – Pupil A and Pupil B. The children take it in turns to tell their partner what time the children do the activities and their partner listens and completes their table.
