Introduction 
a Play a game of Slow reveal using flashcards 64-69 (see page 20) to revise vocabulary from the previous lesson.
a Ask children what happened in the story in the previous lesson. Show Story poster 7 to encourage ideas. Cover the poster and ask children which feelings / emotions were mentioned in the story.
Development
aExercise 1: Ask children to turn to the story on page 53 of their Class Books. Play the recording, pausing for children to repeat. Divide the class into groups of six to play the parts of Rosy, Tim, Mum, the twins, and the twins' mother. Decide on the actions for the story. Children practise acting out the story. Check children’s work. 
aExercise 2: Ask children to look at the pictures in the Let's learn! Box. Read the sentences; elicit to teach We're thirsty. They're sad. Are they cold? Are they hungry? Focus attention on the contraction of We are (We’re) and They are (They’re). Ask children to point to the sentences with the contractions.
aWriting: Ask children to look at the pictures. Model the first one. Then ask them to finish the exercise. Go through the answers with the class.

aExercises 4: Ask children to look at the pictures, identify how the children are feeling and give the correct answer for each question. Go through the answers with the class. Ask the questions for the class to reply in chorus.

a Grammar Reference: Ask children to open their Class Books to p.75 and do the Unit 7 Grammar activity to practice the target structure further.

Introduction
a Ask two or three children to come to the front of the class. Show them a flashcard (e.g. cold) for them to mime being cold. Ask the class Are they hot? (No, they aren't). Repeat with other children. To practise we are as well as they are, ask some questions directly to the children who are miming, e.g. Are you cold? (Yes, we are). 
Development
a Exercise 1: Ask children to look at the pictures of people’s feeling and emotions. They then write the one of the words (They’re, I’m, We’re, She’s, He’s) to complete the sentences. Children then work in pairs and compare the answers.

aExercise 2: Ask children to look at the story and write they’re, they, we’re, They’re, Are, or aren’t to finish the story. Children then work in groups of five and act out the story. Ask some groups to act out the story in front of the class.

Consolidation
aSpeaking activity: Ask children to sit in group of 4 – 6. Children take turns to talk about their feelings. Ask children to take notes of their friends’ feelings or emotions. They then report about their group. Encourage them to use They're; We're; They are/ aren't ; I’m; He’s; She’s in their report and try to state some reasons for those feelings or emotions. E.g. I’m happy. I’ve got good marks. They are thirsty. Children can point to the friends they are talking about.

Introduction
a Play a game of Snap! (see page 19) using flashcards 64-69 to revise the words children have learnt so far in the unit.
a Use flashcards 70 - 73 to introduce the new vocabulary. Reinforce the meaning by miming the emotions. Hold up the cards one at a time and say the words for children to repeat. Hold up the cards in a different order for children to repeat again.
Development
aRecording 68: Ask children to look at the pictures in their Class Books. Play the first part of the recording for children to point to the words. Play the second part of the recording for children to repeat the words. Play the recording all the way through again for children to listen and point and then repeat. Hold up flashcards 70 - 73 one at a time for individual children to say the words. 
aRecording 69: Use the song worksheet (without opening the Class Book) where children listen and fill in the correct words. After that ask children to sing along with the CD and then sing together without the CD audio. 
aSing and do: Ask children to look at the pictures and tell you which action they should do for each verse of the song. Play the recording for children to listen and do their actions.
Consolidation
 aGame: Ask children to work in groups of 4- 6. Encourage them to think about different verses for the song. E. g. If you’re hungry and you know it, 
Eat your cake, yum-yum! If you’re hungry and you know it, Drink your juice, ah ah!...The group with the most interesting verse wins the game.

Introduction
a Action game: Play an action game with the whole class to revise the feelings words children have learnt. Show the feelings flashcards 64- 73 at random for the class to mime. Start slowly, then start changing between instructions more and more quickly until children find it hard to keep up. It’s the end of the game. Start the game again if you want to.
Development
aExercise 1: Ask children to open their workbook at the page 54. Ask them to order the words to make meaningful sentences. They then look at the pictures, find and match the sentences to suitable pictures. Ask them to work in pairs and talk about people’s feelings. Ask children to write the sentences on the board.
2c These girls are hungry. 3e Are they angry? 
4a These boys aren’t cold. 5b We aren’t tired. 
aExercise 2: Ask children to look at the pictures carefully, find and circle the words of feelings or emotions. Children then write the words beneath each picture. They then work in pairs, check the answers. Ask children to make sentences about each person. E. g. 1 hungry à He’s hungry.
2 happy, 3 angry, 4 scare, 5 brave, 6 cold, 7 thirsty, 8 hot, 9 tired, 10 sad
Consolidation
a Word chain: Place flashcards 64- 73 on the board in one of the given sequence, e.g. hungry, happy, angry, scare, brave, cold, thirsty, hot, tired, sad.
Point to a child. He / She says the first word in the sequence, i.e. hungry. Point to another child. He or she says the next word in the sequence, i.e. happy. Continue with each child saying the next word in the sequence, returning to the beginning when necessary.
