Interpreting the feelings of other people is not always easy, as we all know, and we (1) _ rely_ as much on what they seem to be telling us, as on the actual words they say. Sex–trait stereotypes (định kiến) may be defines as a set of psychological attributes (thuộc tính) that characterize men more frequently than women. Thus, males are often described as ambitious, unemotional, and independent and, on the other hand, like selfish, unrefined, and insensitive. Females are described as emotional, irrational, high-strung(dễ xúc động), and tentative (dò xét). In spite of the egalitarian (CN trung bình, bình quân) movement, recent studies have demonstrated that sex-trait stereotypes remain common among young adults today. In fact, such stereotyping has proved to be the psychological justification for social beliefs concerning the appropriateness of various activities for men and women that further perpetuate (lúng túng) the different sex roles traditionally ascribed(đổ lỗi) to men and women.
The awareness of sex – trait stereotypes in the United States developes a linear (triều hướng) fashion between the ages of four and ten. Generally, knowledge of male stereotypical characteristics develops earlier, whereas knowledge of female characteristics increases more rapidly between the ages of four and seven. While the reasons for this learning are not fully understood, evidence suggests that at the preschool level children’s literature and television programs provide powerful models and reinforcement for stereotyped views. Studies designed to compare sex-trait stereotypes cross–nationally show a high degree of correspondence in the characteristics ascribed to men and women. As finding have been obtained in the other countries, two hypotheses (giả thuyết) have been advanced to explain the commonalities in sex trait stereotyping. One states that pancultural (động vật học) similarities play a role in the psychological characteristics attributed to men and women, and the second states that the general picture is one of cultural relativism (thuyết tương đối).

Every drop of water in the ocean, even in the deepest parts, responds to the forces that create the tides. No other force that affects the sea is so strong. Compared with the tides, the waves created by the wind are surface Line movements felt no more than a hundred fathoms (sải) below the surface. The tides are a response of the waters of the ocean to the pull of the Moon and the more distant Sun. II. Topic: Which is more important, knowledge from books or experiences from life?
We gain our knowledge about the world and our life from two sources: from experience and from books. These two resources are both important, but which of them is more important?
Knowledge from books forms a very important part of our knowledge structure. In schools and colleges, we learn knowledge which is fundamental to our future career. We learn knowledge from books in order to make our contributions to this society in the future. A student learns mathematic equations and other scientific knowledge and become a scientist or engineer. We will be illiterate and ignorant without learning knowledge from books. Moreover, we acquire knowledge about life and the world by reading books, magazines and newspapers. This is also very important as we cannot experience everything all by ourselves. Therefore books are a very important source of knowledge.
On the other hand, we can't learn everything from a book. “Experience is the best teacher” is an old cliché, but I agree with it. The most important, and sometimes the hardest, lessons we learn in life come from our participation in situations. We learn how to get along with others or how to have self-respect from our experience, not from books. We cannot learn emotional feelings, such as love and care, through books; they come from our real life experience. Knowledge from experience is also a very important supplement to knowledge from books.
Needless to say both learning sources, books and experience, are very important to us. But in my opinion knowledge from experience is more important, because without knowledge from experience, it is impossible to get a real understanding of knowledge from books, and how to apply this knowledge to real world situations.
